Principal's Corner
Welcome to Kennedy-Powell Elementary!
I am honored to serve as the principal of Kennedy-Powell Elementary. This role is especially meaningful to me because my entire educational journey has been connected to Temple ISD. I am a proud TISD graduate, and I have had the privilege of being trained, developed, and grown right here in the district I now serve as a campus leader.
Throughout my career in Temple ISD, I have served as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, assistant principal, and now principal. Each role has shaped who I am as an educator and strengthened my belief that strong schools are built through high expectations, meaningful relationships, excellent instruction, and strong partnerships with families.
At Kennedy-Powell, I am committed to creating a school where every student is challenged, supported, and known. I believe in working alongside our teachers and staff to strengthen instruction, use student data with purpose, and create meaningful opportunities for every child to grow academically and personally. I also believe that our families are essential partners in this work. Building trust, creating opportunities for parent involvement, and maintaining open communication with families are priorities for me.
Our theme this year, “Lead. Inspire. Illuminate. The Future is Bright,” reflects the vision I have for Kennedy-Powell. I believe leadership can happen at every level, inspiration comes through relationships and purpose, and when students, staff, families, and our community work together, we can illuminate a bright future for every child who walks through our doors.
Outside of school, I am a proud wife and mom. My husband and I are blessed with our only daughter, Lillian, who continues our Temple ISD story as a TISD student and a member of the Varsity Kittens. Being both an educator and a TISD parent gives me a personal connection to the families I serve and strengthens my commitment to making our schools places where students can learn, grow, belong, and thrive.
I am incredibly proud to lead Kennedy-Powell and to serve the students, staff, and families who make our campus such a special place. I look forward to continuing to build a school community where every child is valued, every staff member is supported, and every family feels connected.
Lead. Inspire. Illuminate. The Future is Bright.
