Project Lead the Way (PLTW) at Kennedy-Powell

Kennedy-Powell STEM Academy is proud to be one of only a few elementary schools in Texas—and across the nation—participating in Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Launch, a hands-on STEM curriculum developed by the Indianapolis-based nonprofit organization, Project Lead the Way.

Although this is the tenth full year of PLTW Launch, it marks the twelfth year of implementation at Kennedy-Powell. In 2013–2014, our school was among a small group nationwide selected to pilot the PLTW Launch program, chosen because of the strength of our science, technology, engineering, and math education.

Since then, Kennedy-Powell STEM Academy has earned national recognition as a PLTW Distinguished Launch Campus for eight consecutive academic years: 2017–18, 2018–19, 2019–20, 2020–21, 2021–22, 2022–23, 2023–24, and 2024-25
